Dating Slough

“Come tourists all and flock to Slough” – the opening line to John Betjeman’s famous poem welcomes visitors from all over to Slough. This thriving multi-cultural town has, however, more recently owed its fame to the opening scenes of the popular TV series, The Office.

Once a mere stopping-off point between London and Bath, the town began to grow to the bustling modern town of today with the arrival of the railway. Visit Slough Museum and explore the city’s past, present and future as you browse among the fascinating exhibitions and collections on display.

There is also some beautiful Victorian architecture in Slough, notably St. Mary’s and St. Ethelbert’s Roman Catholic Chapel. When the sun sets, singles can enjoy a quiet dinner or drinks in one of the local traditional pubs or head for the bright lights of London!
